Disneybound Merida - Brave by Shinigami-Mero-Chan Disneybound Merida - Brave by Shinigami-Mero-Chan

I recently went to Disneyland and it has always been a dream of mine to cosplay there. Being that only children could dress up I began to think of a ways I could cosplay secretly. When Brave's first trailer came out my friends and family raved about how I looked like Merida so, I knew I was going to Cosplay Merida in Disneyland so I didn't need to do a thing to my hair.

The shirt was inspired by the dress you see Merida wearing in the picture. I only had two days to make it and I could only work with what I had so I whipped up a Babydoll shirt that sparkles green when its hit by the sun like Disneyland Merida's dress.

I got so many compliments from guests and especially from the Disney cast. One cast member was stunned and kept saying I should audition for Merida because I looked like her(just need more red hair but I would never dye it =D). When i visited Rapunzel she was going crazy over the shirt. She was touching it, looking at all the details, and even called in a cast member from the shop(I think it was a shop) next to her to see me. I was really happy when she exclaimed "She looks just like Merida, Right?!" and the members agreed.

My hair was poofier/bigger/fuller but thanks to Grizzly Rapids, that didn't last long.

During Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (Not sure what they call it in DL, but that's what we call it over here in WDW) I am able to cosplay as Disney characters in the parks and have even twice as much fun. That is unfortunately the only time though..... still fun, just not in costume. =)

Yah, It's the same thing at DL. I hope I can one day go in my Merida cosplay one year but I live too far away to go on a whim... =(

What a brilliant idea! And yeah, you would make a really good Merida for the park. Don't worry about dying your hair, Disney uses wigs for all their characters, so they'll take care of you with that. Just recently they started allowed adults to come in costume during Halloween, so if you made it back to the park for that you could do a full cosplay.

In Disneyland?
Cause here in WDW adults have always been able to come in costume during the party....

Maybe I am thinking of Disneyland then. I have a bunch of friends out west who got all excited about being able to go to the park during the Halloween Party in costume because they couldn't do it before. Not sure if the rules are different for Disney World, I've only been there once and it was like, a month ago, haha.

I think they might have meant during a normal day. Cause other than during the Halloween party, people over around 7-10 years old can't be in (Disney/similar/very obvious)costume in the parks. I know at Epcot during Hetalia day (an anime where all the countries of the world are human characters) people cosplay as them and go into Epcot. I guess it is easier though cause they don't all look like obvious costumes. =)
